NIOSH approved against formaldehyde and certain organic vapors. Use with 3M™ Half and Full Facepieces 6000, 7000 and FF-400 Series with a bayonet-style filter/cartridge connection or 3M™ Scott™ AV-3000 HT and AV-3000 SureSeal facepieces with 3M™ Scott™ AV-632 Bayonet Adapter.

Use in a variety of applications, including laboratories, wood processing, carpet manufacturing, and primary metals manufacturing. When properly fitted, helps provide respiratory protection from formaldehyde and certain organic vapors at concentrations up to 10 times the Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) with half facepieces or 50 times PEL with full facepieces. Full facepieces must be quantitatively fit tested to claim assigned protection factor above 10 in negative pressure mode. Not for use in environments that are immediately dangerous to life or health (IDLH). OSHA requires that gas proof goggles be worn with half facepiece respirators when used against formaldehyde.

Use Instructions

  1. Failure to follow all instructions and limitations on the use of this cartridge and/or failure to wear the respirator during all times of exposure can reduce respirator effectiveness and may result in sickness or death.

    – are immediately dangerous to life or health (IDLH),
    – are unknown,
    – are greater than 10 times the permissible exposure limit (PEL) with half facepiece respirators and full facepiece respirators when qualitatively fit tested,
    – are greater than 50 times the PEL with full facepiece respirators when quantitatively fit tested, or
    – exceed specifi c local applicable government regulations (such
as OSHA standards in the U.S.) or other applicable government regulations, whichever is lower.
